Park smarter in LA

Here's how to get the most out of Prko — from checking a spot to tracking your session.

1

Check any parking spot

Type a street address or intersection in the search bar — or just tap anywhere on the map. Prko instantly decodes the parking rules for that exact location: sweep days and times, meter hours, and time limits, all in one card.

2

Use your location

Already parked? Tap the crosshair button next to the search bar to check the rules right where you are. Prko will drop a pin on your current location and show your full parking window instantly.

3

Read your parking window

The result card shows everything you need to know. A green banner means you're good to park. Red means don't. You'll see the exact sweep window, meter enforcement hours, and any posted time limits — no more standing on the sidewalk decoding three signs at once.

4

Track your session

Once you've parked, tap "I'm Parked Here" to log your spot. Prko saves the address and tracks how long you've been there. Check History anytime to see your recent spots with timestamps and parking status.

Troubleshooting

"Location access denied"

Your device is blocking Prko from reading your location. Unblock it:

iPhone (Safari)

Settings app → SafariLocation → set to Ask or Allow. Reload prko.app and tap the locate button.

iPhone (added to home screen)

SettingsPrivacy & SecurityLocation Services → find Prko → set to While Using.

Android (Chrome)

Tap the padlock in the address bar → PermissionsLocationAllow. Reload.

Desktop

Click the padlock icon in the address bar → Site settingsLocationAllow. Reload.

Not getting sweep reminders

On iPhone, reminders only work when Prko is added to your home screen — Safari doesn't allow web notifications from a regular browser tab.

Once Prko is on your home screen, open it → Settings → enable Sweeping Reminders and accept the prompt.

"Address not found"

Add the city and zip: "123 Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012" instead of just "123 Main St". Or drop a pin on the map.

Parking info looks wrong

Prko uses City of LA data, but coverage is still expanding — especially downtown. If a posted sign disagrees with Prko, the posted sign wins.

Help us out: tap Report a sign in the result card and we'll update the map.
